#Molly2 #HalfUp #HalfDown

#Molly2 #HalfUp #HalfDown Hopefully you read my previous post,  Now Trending : #MOLLY   so you have already met my sweet friend. Sponsoring Molly for her high school Scholarship Pageant has been so much fun. And I think the "Trending" theme has been perfect.  With our next look we did a super popular and timeless half up half down.                         So to give it some real boom pow we worked with the golden extensions that we had previously put in her hair.  This gives tons of Oomph to work with as well as adding a lot of texture to her final look. Separating off her crown section, we backcomb to give a base and lift.  Just a few push downs with the teasing comb does all you need.  Then pin this section at the base of the cushion  (where you backcombed).      Working on the right side, take her front sect...

Now Trending : #MOLLY

Now Trending : #MOLLY Hey everybody, I want to introduce you to a beautiful friend of mine, Molly. Molly is competing in the Scholarship Pageant Program at school and my salon is  so excited to sponsor her.   So for her ad in the program we went with a "trending" theme. We started off by putting a few soft curls in Molly's naturally curly hair.   In the top photo, I love how it shines  and truly looks like ribbons cascading on her shoulders. For her next look we added some clip on extensions.  These are my FAV. So easy to use.  They add fullness and/or length in a snap! Here, we used honey, golden extensions for an added 3 inches. (Please excuse my attire.  Had plans of working out.   Key word there being "plans" .) A few final adjustments and we are ready to check it out. Oh YEA!  She loves it and I do too.   Seriously, a little back combing and clip those babies in and...

All Out of Love

All Out of Love Oh the joys of knowing some tricks of the trade!   If you've got thin, fine hair, then today's trick may just be what you've been looking for. Clip On Extensions!!! When you see how natural these extensions look,  how much thicker and fuller Tara's hair looks, you will jump on board. Here we are in my old basement.   We lovingly referred to it as  " The Basement Beauty Shop ". Right next to our 1979 Jeep, d irt bikes, work shop, Rip-Sticks, and bicycles, was where I did some magic from time to time.   So get a kick out of the duct work and overall "basement" feel in the background that somehow is just shy of a cool backdrop.   (Notice the length & thickness of Tara's hair) This is Tara who is unbelievably beautiful inside and out.  And I seriously mean that.   She puts up with me and all my goofiness.  She drives a short distance to see me at my new salon just becaus...
It's a Beautiful World!   One of the best things about being a hairdresser is getting to enjoy those moments when people feel their best and refreshed. A great haircut can make you want to take on the world.  And I   count it a pleasure and an honor to be a part of so many of those great moments.  Here are a few of those moments caught after our haircutting sessions.  Enjoy!   Bailey Before Bailey After!   A glamorous "birthday do" I did on Ramie      Love her! Emily w/ below jaw length show stopper.  Tres Chic.     Swingy layers! Beverly's hair went from super curly to super beautiful . Low and Full Ponytail

Today's post is a tribute to a totally nontraditional ponytail. On the left is my hair on one of my many days at work when I rushed to get there. I gave it a product fill up and followed by a rough blow dry. Then, realizing I was running out of time, I took advantage of the volume and whipped it into two ponytails.  I don't want to call them pigtails  because the style just didn't have a "pigtail" look. I wore one pony behind my shoulder and one pony in front of the other shoulder.  ( You know I love "Ragamuffin" style and this fits me perfectly!! ) So the photo on the right??  Well, that's a funny story. Last night before going to bed I was perusing an old Allure magazine.  (I am quite the magazine junkie) So I open it up and there on the page was the fuller bottom ponytail by Orlando Pita! I was so excited; I had to get out my pics that we had taken from a while back and  share them with you guys....

Disaster to Diva's post

So excited. I did a super duper conditioning treatment on my hair last night and it looked and felt FaBuLoUs today!  I used Kenra Nourishing Masque on freshly shampooed hair.  I saturated all of my hair (scalp too) from base to the ends.  Left it for 15 minutes and rinsed it out.  Hairdressers are often like plumbers, they keep everybody else working and yet their own pipes are clogged up.  So it felt fantastic today for my hair to be so shiny and bouncy! I curled it on a 1" clipless wand and shook it out.  Now go check out the Before & After's page.  Just posted some that you have GOT to go see! Have you ever had any of your own "mess ups" with your hair??  Tell me about it.  I always love a good laugh!  LOL

"Layers with OOmph!"

Oh yea---you are gonna want these full, bouncy, swingy layers this summer!!!  And seriously, I would love to tell you how to get them but that's kind of MY  SECRET . Hairdresser-extraordinaire cannot reveal the sho-nuff techniques but I can say that if you live in Alabama I would love to set you up with some "Layers with OOmph!". If you happen to live elsewhere then ask your stylist for long, side graduated layers. Kaylan's hair was almost one length when we started.  She was gorgeous before  (YES, it's her natural color)  but this change was just what she was looking for, something different but keeping the length. Check out the back ( so LOVE the back )  Breezing off the edges looks so fresh. Need to spice up your long layers?  You've got to try this!! What do you think??? Here's a " Do-Over " aka Before & After   LOVE this girl and LOVE those "Layers with OOmph!"...
