Getting there

Hey guys! So good to be back wit cha!!

This is from the Fall show in Hotlanta last October. So wished I could remember this guys name. He won some top/World title that I'm sure he would be highly offended by my forgetfulness. If he only knew me he would understand. Anyway, he was GREAT and my friend and I loved every second of his work.

This guy was in the same show. We had a big time but these were the only pics I could take on my cell at the time. Big shows coming up in September and October so I'll be sure to have some awesome pics to show you from that one.

Now for the blog:

Ok, so I'm a slacker. I own it and admitting your problem is like half of the recovery process. Right? Sorry for the ginormous delay. I've been in a bit of a slump and sort of hit a wall that mentally I was struggling with. I think I'm crawling out from under a big pile of coats that I've been under. Not literally. That would not be something to take lightly and if I had been under a REAL pile of coats then surely some of you guys would've come after me a long time ago. Hahaha Thanks for coming back to the page. I hope to do better in the future.

Please be patient, God isn't finished working on me yet.
Until next time---Love Love and more of God's Love to you!

Sleek, Shiny Braided Chignon

This is such a pretty look.  It goes super dressed up or super casual. Either way, it's a classic with an interesting twist. One that is sure to make others want to get a closer look to see how you did it. And the big bonus is, it is SO easy. Love easy! So we are borrowing a few pics from an earlier post, the  braided bun . (click on "braided bun" to take you there) So first, we start off with a braided ponytail.  This can be high on the head or lower. I'll elaborate on that at the end of the post. Then give the braid a slight tug to loosen and soften the braid.  It'll make the braid more pliable. Now just simply wrap the braid around your ponytail band and tuck the ends under. Pin on bottom first then pin on top to secure. Pin around the edges and since a braid is heavier and stiffer, it may take a few pins to make sure it holds. Sorry there aren't any pics of this stage but it's hard to snap all the steps. ...

Beauty and the Bible

Psalm 149:4 For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. "He will beautify the humble with salvation"~~ If God were my Rachel Zoe, my own personal stylist, He would first choose to clothe me in salvation. "..Clothe me in salvation". Before He can do this He has to get me ready for my style session. This takes a bit of planning and thought. God must set the stage, so to speak. A good stylist plans, prepares, gathers needed material, and gets a full vision for the overall and complete look. In this case, I was so unattractive or plainly said, ugly as sin or maybe better to say "ugly with sin". This sin is so ugly that He cannot even look on me. If we started here God wouldn't even be able to take my measurements. God cannot be with sin. He sees this as a problem that must be fixed. We've got to wash sin away. The sin must go before anything can be done. As you've seen on What Not To Wear ...

Hi-dy Heidi

Hi-dy Heidi I try to do a twist on the traditional "before and after" pics as often as I can.    I really like the phrasing, "Inspiration to Commercial".   Most often people see a photo of a celebrity or a model and  use that as a request for their haircut. Now some hairdressers are not fond of clients bringing in pictures  but personally I LOVE them.   It is such a great tool for communicating with your client. It gives you something specific, even tangible, to point to as a reference. You can use it for bang length, perimeter length,  the point where layers begin or where fullness is in a hairstyle.   Things that sometimes get lost in translation when using words alone.  My beautiful model for this post is the lovely Heidi.   Having known Heidi forever, we have been through a lot over the years. We've also been through a LOT of hairstyles.   And some of them have been rather hysteric...
