Unstructured Natural Looking Waves

Isn't she BeAuTiFuL???  She is and has a personality
that is just as gorgeous!!
This is Lucy and she's a gem even with her normally
straight, slightly coarse hair.
Here's how we took her from straight to silky,
bouncy, super natural looking waves.

We scored 2 different looks.  And YOU can too with this simple but unique process.  Here we go...

If you're starting with clean hair then you've got to dirty it up a bit.  I used Kenra Firm Hold Mousse all over on dry hair.  Then added Brocato's Rootfix from the scalp and up the hairshaft about 2 1/2".  Love this stuff.  It makes it rough without feeling hard or stiff.  Then did a semi-rough blow out til the hair was comepletely dry again.

Starting with the nape, section the hair off into 2x2" sections.  Pull the strands out and twist. Twist the strands back to the head and secure with roller set pins or hair pins.

Repeat until all the hair is twisted and secured except for the bang area.  Make a barrel curl for a more soft wave on the bang.  Secure in place.  Lightly mist hair all over with a medium hold spray.  You can now let the hair sit for 30 minutes or even sleep on it overnight.  We put Lucy under the dryer for a quick set.
Now carefully remove the pins starting with the nape area again.  As you pull them out, give a slight tug to each strand to soften the twist.  Then turn the head over and with a little Morroccan Oil, lightly shake the twists loose.  Flip back up and calm any crazy hairs.  Add a few (and I mean a "few") polishing touches by placing bangs and spray.  I used Brocato Moveable Hold.

Whadya think?  She's got body and waves and no set pattern to look too fussy or structured.  I especially love the way the ends stay very natural looking.  Not too curled.  Not too straight.  Tons of body.  Super carefree and bouncy.
Gor-ge-mous!!!
Then we  swept it to the side and covered the elastic with a piece of Lucy's hair and Voila' - a whole new look.

Can you beat these fun, bouncy, unstructured waves???
What do YOU think, for real??  I know I love it

You're Special. In a Good Way!! #4

 You've Got Skill

HELLO my marvelous, life-embracing,
fearless friends!
Did you know that you are more than
just a pretty face???

Oh yes, it's true.

Baby, you've got depth, you've got intellect,
you've got that certain, .... oh how you say?
Je ne sais quois
Do you know what that means? It's French for
I don't know what.
Hahaha I love that.  But it's true.  You've got skills that I don't know about.  You've got that certain something that God can use to make this world a better place and more importantly, bring glory to Him.  Remember,

1Corinthians 10:31 says
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do,
do all to the glory of God.

WHATEVER you do, let it bring glory to God.  The world will be a more beautiful - loving - FUN place.
So let's help a brother or a sister out by whatever means and resources God has given you.

Are you an encourager?   Well, don't hold back.
Is making food for others your thing?   Then cook baby.
Is praying and hugging your tender spot?  Then hug and pray.

Use your trade, your hobbies, your smile!
Whatever you've got - HE can use!!

Pray about sharpening your skills &
ask for opportunities to use what you got.
Cause Baby,
You Got Skills!!!!!
Love, love to ya

Sorry, no pics again.
I'm such a slacker.

You're Special. In a Good Way!! #3

You Are Fearless!!
-or you could be-

Ok my Marvelous, Life-embracing friends, know that
you can be fearless.
I know we all have a cowardly lion in us
and times when we want to go hide under a pile of coats
(that's my personal favorite)
But we don't have to give in to that fear!
NOPE - the wise wisdom (is that redundant? hehe) given to us
in the book of Proverbs says,

"Do not be afraid of sudden terror,
Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
For the Lord will be your confidence
And will keep your foot from being caught."
3:25,26

I've got 2 words for ya
Awesome Kabosome!!
( slang courtesy of my sweet baby girl )
God doesn't say it won't get tough or bad.
In fact He says, "...when it comes" so we need to expect
tough times & sticky situations.  BUT
Never fear  -  -  -  Our God is here
He will keep our foot from being caught.
He always makes a way for us.  So go be
FEARLESS
and pull out your Taylor Swift cd entitled Fearless.
You know you want to.
Hahaha
